Amarya January 2012
This is what I found in my Amarya box this month!
Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream - full size worth £23.95
Containing a myriad of plant extracts including Peanut oil, Marshmallow, Avocado, St Johns Wort, Shea Butter and Olive Oil along with Rose extracts and Beeswax, this is a gorgeously luxurious cream that smells divine and came in the most gorgeous purple gift bag!
However, it is far too rich for me to use as a day cream. I have combination skin and the plant oils take far too long sinking in and seem to just sit on it for ages. I have had to use this as a night cream when it doesn't matter that it takes so long to absorb and it works wonderfully overnight. My skin would probably suit the lighter version of this cream as a day cream with the standard version suited to dryer or more mature skins.
John Masters Organics Jojoba and Ginseng Exfoliating facial cleanser - sachet
This is a milky cleanser based on Aloe Vera and Sunflower Seed Oil with Jojoba Wax beads to exfoliate, Ginseng and Bearberry Leaf extracts and essential oils of Ylang Ylang, Orange, Combava, Calendula and Rosemary.
It doesn't foam but it does effectively cleanse and exfoliate the skin and the essential oil blend smells gorgeous.
Even though it uses Jojoba Wax beads to provide the exfoliation rather than crushed nuts/seeds, this would be too harsh to use on my skin on a daily basis. It would make a gorgeous exfoliator once or twice per week.
Caudalie Pulpee Vitaminee Anti-Wrinkle Serum - sample
Containing Cauadalie's patended rape seed Polyphenols, this is a light serum to fight the signs of ageing and pep up tired skin.
This went on well and sunk in fast but as I don't have any fine lines or wrinkles I can't comment on it's effectiveness at fighting these.
I used this when my skin was looking a bit tired but it still didn't pep it up as much as a light-reflecting primer did so I wouldn't use it for this.
Overall:
Another wonderful box from Amarya! The Rose Day cream is a wonderful product to have, even if I have to use it as a night cream and I'd definitely consider buying the John Masters Cleanser to use as an exfoliator.
I also loved the fact that as this months box didn't warrant the fancy big shoebox, they didn't use it. I love the fact that Amarya would rather use only the packaging that is absolutely necessary and let the products speak for themselves than go all out on posh boxes, ribbon and tissue paper.
