Fabbing and No More Buying Toiletries - my aims for 2012

14:55:00

This year I have decided to tackle two big areas of my life. Fortunately I have a LOT of help from the wonderful people on the MoneySavingExpert forums!

No More Buying Toiletries

This one is rather self explanatory! I have FAR too much stuff and I want to clear it all and reduce my incomings because it is taking up space and it isn't very "green" of me to just keep consuming more and more stuff.

I have also decided to completely make the switch to "natural" toiletries and cosmetics so I'm on a mission to clear the conventional stuff and replace with lovely new natural things!

The first thing I did was cancel my Glossybox and start an Amarya subscription. Amarya's box contents are all natural and they also promise to include one full size product worth about £20 per month with additional samples. They also don't give me a posh box, ribbons, tissue paper, stickers and far too much packing material so I also feel less guilty about not having a use to recycle all the stuff.

I then started taking my empty plastic bottles/tubes to my local Origins counter for recycling. They will accept any plastic container from any brand and in return will give you a small sample of an Origins product for you to try. I think this is a brilliant idea, I know my plastic isn't going to sit in landfill AND I get to try gorgeous new products!

Fabbing

This one is rather less self explanatory but it is about taking care of every part of me and promising myself that I will do things that make me both feel and look better so that when Litha (summer solstice) comes around I look and feel fabulous!

I have re-joined Slimming World and the Gym and I am going to shift the excess weight and work on my fitness. I may even look at seeing if there is a Triathlon I can enter later in the year - I think I'm done with 10km races now. I know it will be a long hard slog but I'm up for it!

We are all here if you want to join in!: Frump to Fab by the Summer Solstice!
