Mindfulness,
Tapping
I first learnt about tapping from the book Radical Self-Love by Gala Darling. She explains how being introduced to this technique helped her overcome an eating disorder, which is a pretty bold claim! I have tried this a couple of times now and whilst i've not had such miraculous results, it has been a good mind focuser and has allowed me to address and bring up a couple of issues that I was perhaps ignoring or denying previously, which can only be a good thing.
To do this you need to repeatedly tap on certain acupressure points on your body whilst saying what it is you want to address and then following this with an affirmation that you completely love, accept and forgive yourself. This second part is so important as you need to be able to accept that this has happened and that you can't change it so you are free to move on from it.
It can be done anywhere and anytime which is a major advantage when you only have a few minutes to spare.
There are some great videos showing you how to do this, including Gala's video here and her full explanation on her blog of this here which gives a much better explanation than I would be able to!
Its a great little addition to a meditation practice and I recommend you give it a try.
